Liquidity slump in banks, CDs fall to less than 72%

Kathmandu. Deposits in the banking system have increased by Rs 38 billion in a single day. According to the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), deposits stood at Rs 8.134 trillion as of Thursday, which reached Rs 8.172 trillion as of Friday. Similarly, credit disbursement reached Rs 5.93 trillion on Thursday from Rs 5.93 trillion on Friday. Credit flow has increased by Rs 1 billion in a single day.

As of Friday, deposits of commercial banks have reached Rs 7.381 trillion while loans from commercial banks have reached Rs 5.276 trillion.

The CD ratio has come down to 71.93 percent and the interbank interest rate is 2.75 percent.

The CD ratio was 72.24 percent the previous day.
