Janautthan Community Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited has provided financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakhs to the people affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa district recently. Janautthan Community Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited has provided financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakhs.
Chairman of the organization Dr. Man Bahadur BK, directors Yagya Bikram Shahi and Gururaj Baral handed over the cheque of the amount donated from the Corporate Social Responsibility Fund to Krishna Bahadur Raut, Secretary of the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security. On the occasion, they met Minister Sita Badi and informed her about the organization’s plan to transfer the amount and collect more relief.
Chairman of the organization, Dr Man Bahadur BK, said that the financial assistance was made to support the state efforts for relief, rescue and rehabilitation of the people affected by the floods in this difficult time of disaster.
In this context, the organization has also decided to provide one day’s salary and allowance to its employees for the help of the flood-affected people. In addition, arrangements have been made to collect the necessary data to identify whether the members of the organization and their families have been affected, to facilitate the search and rescue of the affected people, and to collect funds through the concerned branch from the members who want to voluntarily contribute relief money or kind.
Meanwhile, the organization has expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and expressed heartfelt condolences to all the deceased who lost their lives in the floods. The organization has been conducting public awareness programs on disaster management and social responsibility at the community level under its strategic plan.
Acting Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Indra Barali, said that the organization, which has been providing financial and kind relief support during the time of disaster in the past, would continue such social and humanitarian works in the coming days as well.
Established in 2067 BS with the main mission of building an inclusive financial system for an independent economy, the organization has been providing community financial services to the poor, backward and marginalized communities deprived of access to financial services.
The organization has been giving priority to green investment since its inception with the focus of climate change. At present, the organization is providing community financial services to about 37,000 members through 39 branch offices in 19 districts, including 11 districts of Terai from Parsa to Kanchanpur and 8 districts of the hills adjoining the same districts.
