KATHMANDU: Cimex Inc., which sells Chinese electric vehicles under the BYD brand in the Nepali market, has decided to contribute Rs 70 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

Company President Yamuna Shrestha said that the company will provide the amount as part of its corporate social responsibility to support the government’s campaign of relief and rehabilitation in the flood-affected areas.

Meanwhile, Liu Xuweliang, Vice President of BYD Group, has expressed his commitment to support Nepal in times of crisis. He said that Chinese electric vehicles enter Nepal through Rasuwa border point, “Rasuwa is not just a border point for us, but an important chapter related to our journey. Our journey of electric vehicles started from this Rasuwa and today we are very sad and worried when such a big disaster has befallen this place.” ‘

He said, “Rasuwa supported us to start our journey. Today, when Rasuwa needs our support, we will not back down. We were together, we are together and we will overcome this difficult time together. Our support and commitment for the revival of Rasuwa will continue.
