Kathmandu. Januka is an insurance agent by Nepali profession. Currently, she works as an agency manager at Maitidevi branch of Citizen Life. Janka, who has been selling clothes to customers in a garment shop, is now doing business by creating awareness about insurance to her relatives, friends, brothers and the general public. It has become his profession to insure the public about the benefits and benefits of insurance and earn income from it.
Januka was born in Mangalpur of Chandrapur Municipality in 2042 BS. “We had a clothing store,” Januka said, adding, “My parents used to go to the shop early in the morning. We used to stay at home. Our childhood was spent watching our siblings, cooking, going to school. Januka has studied up to SLC.
Before entering the insurance profession, Januka had his own clothing shop. Even now, she is continuing her business along with an insurance agent. Jaishankar Prasad Shah urged Januka to work as an agent in the insurance sector. “The insurance sector is very good. Along with your business, you can also give time to this profession. It’s a very good profession where you can earn a lot of money by working in your own time and also protect the lives of others.” “Yes, let’s do it,” he said. She started working in 2076 BS with a license from Citizen Life.
Before coming to the insurance, Januka did not understand the insurance, but her insurance was done by LIC Nepal. It was Jaishankar Prasad Shah who helped Januka during his time in the insurance sector. She also provided guidance on insurance and underwent capacity building training as an agent. In this way, her knowledge of insurance kept increasing and she was able to do good business.
After entering the profession of an agent, Januka’s life changed a lot. As the agent joined the profession, public relations increased and the scope of income sources also widened. Public relations with all kinds of people also increased. His daily routine, which had been confined to shops, now changed to social worker and insurance agent marketing. She shared her experience that after entering the profession of an agent, she was able to speak freely with everyone.
Janka, who didn’t know anything when she became an agent, said that it was not difficult to get insurance later on while taking training given by the company and socializing with her friends.
She says, “It is not so easy to apply for insurance, but if you work continuously, you can succeed in this profession and there are those who are successful.” There are many ups and downs when you go to the market with an insurance offer. Not everyone thinks this profession is good. ’
Recalling the past, she shared her experience, “How much commission do you get for getting insurance when you go to your relatives with an insurance proposal?” I would rather give it to him, but he told me to quit the agent’s profession. But being an agent is my favorite profession. If I had stayed in the shop, I wouldn’t be known to everyone today. Today, I have had the opportunity to get to know many people after becoming an agent. I have received awards, honors and respects. I am very happy about it. I will always respect this profession no matter what others say. ’
“I didn’t understand insurance before, but after coming to Citizen, I got an opportunity to understand and explain insurance,” she said. It’s been a lot better since I entered this profession. I am financially strong and the future of my insured family is secured. I’m happy about it. When I shopped, there was a small margin. Now I have a good income from insurance. The harder I work, the more money I get. Looking at the income from the insurance agent rather than the income from my shop, I was impressed by the agent profession. ’
Januka said she had to struggle for a long time to sell an insurance policy. “This profession requires patience. They don’t want to get insurance easily because they are aware of insurance,” she shared.
He believes that to be successful in the profession of an agent, one must have the qualities of hard work, honesty, patience and perseverance. Also, he feels that an agent should have the ability to be sure, not panic and explain in his speech, “Agent is a financially strong and social profession. An insurance agent is a respected profession that acts as a bridge between the insurance company and the insured. ’
According to Janka, insurance is better for the haves than for the haves. “For those who have, there is money, but for those who have nothing, if you have a small insurance, tomorrow you will stand as a guardian in an emergency.” Gives relief.
