Kathmandu. Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN) President Ganesh Karki has said that the government does not have a plan to manage the consumption of electricity despite the increasing power generation. Giving suggestions to the ‘Economic Agenda in the Party’s Manifesto’ organized by the Association of Economic Journalists of Nepal in Kathmandu on Sunday, Chairman Karki said that the private sector should be given the responsibility to export electricity.
According to Karki, the political parties should promise to improve the policies on export, consumption and trade of electricity produced and emphasize on its implementation.
‘
Electricity is not only produced but consumption plans are needed. Arrangements should be made to buy electricity produced by the private sector or return the license,” Karki said. A policy should be made for the security of the private sector. ’
