Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has announced that he will seek $1 billion in damages from Harvard University. The issue is part of an ongoing conflict between the Trump administration and Harvard.
The news comes after the New York Times reported that the Trump administration had to back down from its $200 million demand during talks with the university. In a post published on Truth Social on Monday night, Trump accused Harvard University of “feeding a lot of nonsense” to the New York Times.
Trump administration officials have accused Harvard of doing enough to address anti-Semitic incidents during the pro-Palestinian protests. The university has denied the allegations.
In April last year, Trump suspended federal funding and canceled nearly $2 billion in research grants to Harvard. –Agency
