Kathmandu. Dubai’s Burj Khalifa currently holds the title of the world’s tallest building. However, a skyscraper under construction in neighboring Saudi Arabia is set to break that record.

The Jeddah Tower, which is being built in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Economic City, is expected to be more than 1,000 meters high. Approximately 80 floors have been completed since construction resumed in 2025 and is on track to overtake Burj Khalifa.

The construction of the tower is going on at a rapid pace. A new floor is being added every 3 to 4 days.

According to Gulf News, the construction of this building is expected to be completed by 2028. The Jeddah Tower will be 172 to 180 meters taller than the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Currently, the Burj Khalifa holds the record for the tallest building in the world at 828 meters.

The original name of the Jeddah Tower was Kingdom Tower but the name was later changed.
