Kathmandu. A meeting was held between the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal today. A delegation led by FNCCI President Bhagirath Sapkota called on Finance Minister Khanal and drew the attention of the government towards the attack on industrialists and entrepreneurs during the Genji agitation on September 7 and 24.
“It is very wrong and condemnable that the business structures were vandalized in the name of Jenny on September 24 even though Jenji had staged an agitation on September 23,” Sapkota said, adding, “If the government does not take action against those involved in such criminal activities, there will be no business environment in the country.” ’
Similarly, Sapkota said that if the Genji movement is kept in a single basket, it will spread more anarchy in the coming days. “We have not protested against the issue raised by Jenji and the way they agitated on the 23rd,” he said, “But the government should immediately take action against the businessmen, businessmen, businessmen, general public and state property that was burnt on the 24th.” ’
Stating that the criminal activities carried out in the name of the Genji movement have demoralized the businessmen, the FNCCI urged the government to play a non-emotional role to uplift it.
At the same time, the federation said that booster doses are needed by the state rather than a simple initiative to revive the current economy. Similarly, the federation demanded that the government should take initiative to resolve the dispute between the dedicated and trunk line.
During the meeting, Finance Minister Khanal said that the incident caused by the Genji movement would be divided into two parts. Stating that vandalism and arson of commercial structures in the name of agitation was wrong, he said action would be taken against the guilty.
Khanal also said that the incumbent government has been taking initiatives to create business environment in the country.
