Kathmandu. The determination to become self-reliant from a young age also makes a person successful. Shanta KC (Bista) has become a successful woman today due to her courage to do something and the self-belief that she will stand on her own feet even if her daughter is a human being. Shanta is now known in the insurance industry, breaking the narrow perception that daughters are people who live on others.

Currently, Shanta is working as a Senior Agency Manager at Citizen Life’s Balaju branch office. She says that she focuses on paying insurance rather than getting insurance. She has also formed a women’s group and submitted insurance. “People are more motivated to pay insurance if they are able to pay for insurance rather than force them to do so,” she says.

Equally interested in social work, Shanta is associated with various social organizations. She is also the treasurer of the Women Sub-Committee of the Tole Improvement Committee and a member of the Tole Improvement Society.

Shanta was born in 2039 BS at Sandhikharka-1 of Arghakhanchi, but her workplace is Baitadi in the far west. He currently resides in Swayambhu, Kathmandu. She has completed her SLC. She completed her studies from Ardhakhanchi before marriage.

Born in a normal family, Shanta’s childhood was spent normally. His father is a retired officer of the Indian Army. When Shanta was young, her parents used to run a business. Sometimes a hotel, sometimes a grocery store, sometimes a fruit and vegetable shop. Shanta has been learning the same thing after seeing the business done by her parents in her childhood upbringing. Even when she was young, Shanta used to follow her parents to do business.

Despite being the eldest daughter of the house, Shanta took all the responsibility. She used to go to school in the morning and evening by helping her parents in the shop. “I grew up watching my parents’ hard work since I was a kid and I got a chance to understand the sorrows and struggles very well,” she said, adding, “We will learn from the deeds that elders did when we were younger.” We have been brought up in a business environment since childhood, so we know how to do business. ’

Shanta got married in 2059 BS. Shanta, who had been running a business in her maternal home even before marriage, did not want to sit idle even after marriage. Her husband is serving in the Nepal Army. After marriage, she did not want to live on her husband’s earnings. He wanted to stand on his own feet. Accordingly, she opened a grocery store in Gongabu. Then they had children. It was hard to give time. As the children grew up, she opened her garment again, thinking she had to do something. She ran the business for about a year and a half. “The business is not always the same, it closed when it didn’t work,” she said.

After that, Shanta was worried about what to do and what to do. At the same time, his neighbour Jamuna Kandel called him and asked, “What are you doing? If you are spending time at home, do not stay like that, come to the insurance sector. It is very good. You can do it in your leisure time by giving time to your family. It’s not hard to spend yourself. It’s also a social profession. It is also the job of religion to try to bring the people in the society under the ambit of insurance by being directly connected to the society. Let’s work as an agent, I will help,” she said.

And Shanta agreed to what her neighbour Jamuna had said. She wondered what to do, as if she had found a deity while searching for a stone. After this, Shanta went to the Balaju branch of Citizen Life with a clearer understanding of insurance and started working with a license in 2081 BS.

After getting an insurance agent’s license, Shanta got the initial insurance for her son. Then she asked her relatives to get insurance and tried to cover all her friends and acquaintances. In a short span of time, she did well in insurance. Within one month of being an insurance agent, she was able to achieve the Silver Gold Club and within 4 months she was able to get the Diamond Club Award. It was a huge achievement for him.

“The company has played a big role in achieving this success within a short time of my entry into the insurance sector,” said Shanta, adding, “I was not very knowledgeable about insurance, but I was encouraged by Balaju branch chief Manisha Tamang, senior agency manager Narendra Pun and others to motivate me and I kept moving forward.” That’s why I was successful today. My family has also supported me in this profession. ’

After joining the profession of an agent, not only did Shanta’s lifestyle change, but her thoughts and thinking also broadened. Shanta says that this profession has changed a lot in her life. “This profession is easy and challenging at the same time. Agent profession is a profession that does not require much time but can earn a lot of money,” she said. It’s a sacred profession. An agent works for someone’s safety. ’

Shanta says she has received mixed reactions from the fans. “I have received both good and bad feedback from customers. The customers who react badly should also be insured by understanding their feelings,” she said, “There are many benefits of insurance. Insurance carries risks. I have been insured to ensure the future of myself and my family when I am absent. The insurance should be done according to the customer’s family situation and their wishes. It is bad for the insurance industry to get insurance because it is a misleading thing that the company cannot afford. ’

Shanta argues that a successful insurance agent should have many qualities. “One has to be diligent about the profession of an agent. You have to pay the insurance again and again to get an insurance. Not everyone has the same thinking. Agents should be patient,” she said, adding, “The main quality of an agent is to be diligent, honest, patient and patient.” Not only this, you should have good knowledge about the company and the insurance policy as well as the ability to explain it to the customer. ’

Shanta is happy that she has received a lot of guides from the company. She said, “The insurance sector is very good for doing something and becoming self-reliant.” For women, this profession is the best. I was attracted to this profession because I could earn money by giving time to my family. What do you want to do for tomorrow? How to save? I’m very happy that it has been an eye-opener for people who can’t think of it. In the coming days, I will move forward in the insurance sector with more strength. ’

Shanta has fulfilled every goal given by the company. She is the recipient of awards including Hero of the Month, Hero of the Day, Diamond Club and Silver Club. After joining the agent profession, Shanta got the opportunity to visit many beautiful places in the country such as Ghandruk, Pokhara, Bandipur, Nagarkot and many other places.
