The government had on Wednesday declared eight districts of Madhesh as disaster-prone areas due to lack of rainfall even during this year’s monsoon season.

Residents of Birgunj Metropolitan City and some areas of Bara district are facing water shortage due to lack of rain in Madhes. The District Security Committee has to distribute water to the drought-affected areas through fire engines with the help of the army.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather will be generally cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and SudurPaschim provinces and partly cloudy in the rest of the states.
