Second Quarter Report: NIFRA Underperforms Key Financial Indicators

Kathmandu. Nepal Infrastructure Bank (NIFRA) has announced the financial year 2082. It has made public the financial statements for the second quarter of 83 months (July-December).

According to the financial report, NIFRA has earned a profit of Rs 40.99 crore in the first six months of the current FY. Previous fiscal year 2081. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 64.19 crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal year. The profit of the bank decreased by 36.15 percent compared to the previous year.

The bank’s operating profit declined to Rs 58.65 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 91.71 crore in the same period a year ago. Similarly, the operating profit of the bank decreased by 36.04 percent.

As of mid-January, the bank has earned Rs 74.07 crore. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 1,044 crore in the same period last year. Interest income decreased by 29.09 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.

The bank has paid-up capital of Rs 21.60 billion and surplus of Rs 3.18 billion. In the same period last year, the reserves and surplus were Rs 4.31 billion.

During the review period, the bank collected deposit of Rs 8.11 billion and extended loan of Rs 27.41 billion. During the review period of the previous year, the bank collected deposit of Rs 7.51 billion and extended loan of Rs 23.26 billion.

The bank’s annual earnings per share (EPS) declined to Rs 3.80 in the second quarter of the current FY. EPS was Rs. 5.94 in the same period last year. The bank has a net worth of Rs 114.75 with a P/E ratio of 68.46 times.
