Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned of high precipitation along with thunder and lightning in all provinces except Karnali on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is the possibility of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at few places of the hilly and terai regions of Madhes and Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces due to increased monsoon activity.
Likewise, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at many places of the hilly and mountainous regions and at a few places of the western region. There is the possibility of monsoon spreading to other parts of the Bay of Bengal as the flow of water vapour-rich wind will gradually increase in Nepal due to the low pressure system that develops in the Bay of Bengal.
The Division has urged the general public to adopt precaution as there is a risk of soil erosion, flood, landslide and inundation in urban and Tarai areas due to the possibility of rainfall.
Likewise, daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, construction work around the rivers and road and air transport could be affected due to increased water level in the rivers and streams, the Division said.
The Division said the monsoon system would be continuously monitored and its details would be updated regularly.
