Kathmandu. Banks and financial institutions will also be able to use their social responsibility (CSR) money for the treatment, relief and rescue of those affected by natural disasters.
In view of the Rasuwa floods, the Nepal Rastra Bank has amended the Guidelines on Corporate Social Responsibility of Banks and Financial Institutions, 2081 and added this provision. According to the amended provision, banks will now be able to use CSR money for treatment, relief and rescue.
According to the guidance, the CSR money can be used for the expenditure on clothes, food, tents, utensils and other materials distributed to the victims of natural disasters and epidemics, and for the expenses incurred on the treatment, rescue and relief work of the victims. Earlier, there was no provision in the guidance to spend on the treatment, rescue and relief work of the victims.
