Kathmandu. The Health Insurance Board has stopped the renewal of health insurance through electronic means from September 25 to update the KYC of the insured.
The Insurance Board has issued a notice informing that the renewal of health insurance has been stopped. Since the KYC update of all the family members is required before the renewal of health insurance, the system of renewing health insurance through electronic means like ConnectIPS, e-Sewa, and Khalti, which was used in the past, has been discontinued from today. The board has said that after the KYC update, it can be renewed directly through these mediums.
All the insured people can synchronize their old insurance details through the HIB e-portal (eportal.hib.gove.np) and update the mandatory KYC, and renew their health insurance from the same portal.
The Insurance Board has launched the HIB e-portal with the objective of making the online affiliation and renewal services under the health insurance program more systematic, simple, easy, transparent and technology-friendly.
