Warning of action against those selling and distributing banned goods

Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has warned of action against those selling and distributing banned goods.

The department issued a notice today. According to the sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Export Import (Control) Act, 2013, the government has published a notice in the Nepal Gazette on different dates to prohibit or control the export or import of such goods. However, its attention has been drawn to the complaints and complaints received regarding the sale of goods in such markets through physical and digital platforms.

The Department has urged all importers, hoarders and sellers to carry out trade and business by abiding by the liability and conditions stipulated by the law, saying the import, storage and sale of such goods banned by the government is punishable as per the law.

The Department has warned of action as per the same Act, Consumer Protection Act, 2075 and other prevailing laws if found violating the laws.
