Kathmandu. A huge treasure has been discovered in the wreckage of a Spanish ship that sank 300 years ago in Colombia. Treasures include gold and bronze coins, ceramic cups, and cannons. This ship has been known as the “Most Sacred Shipwreck.”

The recovered items are the first treasures recovered from the ship. San José is a large Spanish cargo ship. which was sunk by the British Royal Navy in the Caribbean more than 300 years ago.

The ship sank during the War of the Spanish Succession (1701–1714). At that time it carried large quantities of gold, silver and emerald from the Spanish colonies in Latin America for the King of Spain.

At today’s price, the treasure is estimated to be worth billions of dollars. The property has been at the centre of a legal dispute between the Colombian government and US maritime rescue company Sea Search-Armada (SSA) because of its value.

Colombia claimed to have discovered the ship in 2015 with the help of international scientists, while the SSA, formerly known as Glaucca Mora, claimed to have discovered it in the early 1980s. SSA has now filed a lawsuit with the Permanent Court of Arbitration for $10 billion. That’s about half of the estimated value of the treasure.

The Colombian government claims that the treasure recovery was part of a research project aimed at uncovering new information about the economic, social and political conditions of Europe in the early 18th century. The government also believes that sunken ships are an important part of Colombia’s culture and identity.

In a recent statement, Colombia’s culture minister, Yanai Cadamani Fonerdoña, described the discovery as a “historic event”. “This discovery demonstrates the country’s ability to conserve underwater cultural heritage,” he said. ’

Alhena Caicedo Fernández, director of Colombia’s Institute of Anthropology and History, said the discovery “provides an opportunity for people to understand the history of Spanish ships through physical evidence.” ’

According to the Colombian government, robots were involved in the search and the treasure was recovered. The treasure will now be preserved in the laboratory for a long time and used in archaeological research.

Historical records indicate that the Spanish ship was part of a fleet of merchant ships called the Flota de Tierra Firme. It was one of several ships that sailed from Peru in 1707 carrying a large cargo of the throne. However, records indicate that it never reached Spain and was sunk off the coast of Colombia the following year after a battle with British forces.
