Kathmandu. GIC Relay, a reinsurance company owned by the Indian government, has paid a dividend of Rs 14.45 billion (Rs 23.12 billion) to the government for the last fiscal year.
For the last financial year 2024-25, the government of India has received such a huge dividend.
The Indian government holds 85.50 percent stake in the company, which has joint ventures in Bhutan and Russia.
In the current financial year 2024-25, the reinsurance company has recorded a total profit of Rs 67.01 billion. As a result, the shareholders declared a final dividend of Rs 10 per share.
With a total workforce of less than 500, GIC has the highest profit per employee profit rate in India.
