Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has once again talked about the benefits of tariffs.
In a social media post, he said the US was making steady progress under his leadership and called those criticising US tariffs “fools”. He also promised to distribute $2,000 in dividends to nearly every American from the proceeds of the tariffs.

In a new post on the Truth Out social platform, Trump touted his trade policy and claimed that under his leadership, the US would be the richest and most respected country in the world. “Record stock prices, high 401(k) balances, and factories expanding everywhere,” he said.
Trump has defended tariffs as a key driver of America’s economic power. Targeting those who oppose and criticize tariffs, he wrote, “Those who oppose taffires are fools!”

Calling tariff critics “fools,” Trump made a bold promise in his Truth Social post. “Nearly all Americans (except those with higher incomes) will receive $2,000 from U.S. tariff income as part of the tariff dividend,” it said. He, however, did not specify how and when the payment would be made.

“Tariff proceeds are generating trillions of dollars for the U.S. and could be used to start paying down the U.S. national debt,” Trump wrote in his post. It is now $ 37 trillion. ’
