Kathmandu. With the passage of time, new machines are created again to break the available available in every era. A luxury sedan has achieved just that.

We are talking about the Skoda Superb diesel. This luxury sedan has once again proved that a combination of meticulous engineering and precise driving is indeed possible.

Crest

With a full tank ride of 2,831 km, this car not only won the Guinness World Record but also demonstrated that diesel technology is unmatched in fuel efficiency even today. The Skoda Superb model that sets this record is not just a modified or racing machine, it is a standard production model.

The car is powered by a regular 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine. It produces 148bhp and 360Nm of torque.

It is equipped with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Which balances both performance and fuel efficiency. This car demonstrated that remarkable results can be achieved when engineering, aerodynamics and driving disciplines are combined.

A special plan was made to achieve this record. The drivers drove the car in Eco mode and maintained a highly balanced throttle response. Care was taken to maintain a smooth gear change. The average speed was maintained at around 80 km/h to maximise engine mileage. The car was fitted with a low-rolling resistance tire and the tire pressure was set at the factory rate. The car was driven behind the front cars to reduce wind resistance. These small measures paved the way for great success.

The driver behind this remarkable achievement is European race champion Miko Marzic. He drove the car from Poland to Germany and Paris. He then returned to Poland via the Netherlands, Belgium, and then Germany. During this journey, he traveled about 2,831 kilometers. With his precise driving skills and discipline, he accomplished what was previously considered impossible with the Skoda Superb diesel sedan.

This historic journey took place in Europe. Where the weather conditions were constantly fluctuating. In many areas, temperatures fell as low as 1 degree Celsius. In some areas, cars had to climb mountain roads. However, despite all these conditions, Superb diesel maintained remarkable stability. In some areas, the car recorded only 2.2 liters of diesel consumption per 100 kilometers. Which in itself is an impressive statistic.

Weighing in at around 1.6 tonnes, this luxury sedan is generally known for its comfort and style. However, this record proved that with proper driving and a balanced setup, it can compete with any hatchback in terms of mileage.

This achievement of Skoda Superb Diesel is not only an inspiration for the company but also for the entire automobile industry. It’s a reminder that there are endless possibilities if any technology, given the right direction and ideas.
