Kathmandu. The Supreme Court (SC) has refused to pass an interim order in a case filed against the government by Sharad Ojha, who has been suspended as chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority( INSURANCE AUTHORITY).
A division bench of Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Shanti Singh Thapa heard the writ petition filed by Ojha today. Hearing the writ petition, the joint bench refused to pass an interim order.
Ojha was suspended from the post of chairman of the Insurance Authority after the Government of Nepal formed an inquiry committee questioning the conduct, efficiency and responsibilities of the post. Ojha had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on July 12, demanding the removal of the suspension along with the cancellation of the inquiry committee.
Ojha had filed a joint writ against the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, the Ministry of Finance and the investigation committee. He had also made chairman of the inquiry committee Krishna Giri and members Jeevan Prakash Sitaula and Kapil Dev Oli as defendants.
A division bench of Justice Abdul Aziz Muslim of the Supreme Court had issued a show-cause order against the Government of Nepal and other defendants. The case was adjourned on August 12 and could not be seen on August 15. Yesterday, it was kept in the place of not being allowed to be seen on July 15.
