A three-member recommendation committee was duped by the government with an order to submit suggestions within seven days to address the demands of the association.

On Wednesday, the association had threatened to resume the agitation if the agreement reached with the government was not implemented as the suggestion committee did not submit its report to the government within the stipulated time of seven days.

A day after the association’s warning, the committee handed over its report jointly to the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies and the Law Minister on Thursday.

The committee comprises the chief of the Supply Management and Consumer Interest Protection Division at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, and joint secretaries at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Population.

General Secretary of The Federation of Nepalese Doctors Dr Sanjeev Tiwari said that discussions would be held with the representatives of the association on Friday regarding the report.
