Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Medical College (NMC) has organized various awareness and cultural programmes on the occasion of World Oral Health Day. The program was organized by the students of BDS 12th batch of the college.
The program started with a banner drop at the dental block. The chief guest of the program was the Managing Director of the college, Dr. Sabiha was Jasmin. Other guests included the principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Dr. Modnath Marhattha, Director of the hospital, Prof. Dr. Nilmani Upadhyay and other senior officials of the college were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Managing Director Dr. Dr. Sabiha Yasmin said that oral health and dental health are important for human health. He said that the college administration would also provide necessary facilitation and support to the college on how to keep teeth and mouth healthy by going to the community level. Other speakers on the occasion stressed on the need of regular dental check-up, hygiene and public awareness, saying oral health is an important part of overall health.
In a panel discussion titled “Happy Mouth is a Happy Life”, the professors discussed the importance of oral health and its relationship with daily life. In addition, the students made the program attractive through awareness-raising drama, dance and other performances.
Prior to this, reels and posters were exhibited and evaluated.
