According to the Insurance Reflection published by the Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA), the number of life insurance policies submitted till Poush of the current fiscal year has decreased by 6.13 percent. According to NEA, there has been a slight increase in the number of life insurance policies that have exceeded 6 months from the date of payment of renewal insurance premium. The number of insurance policies has increased by 0.17 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.
In the first six months of the current fiscal year, 12,31,655 insurance policies have been issued. The amount of insurance policies spent is Rs 37.80 billion. In the last fiscal year, the amount of insurance policy was Rs 36.16 billion. In the same period last year, 12,29,506 insurance policies were issued. Compared to the previous year, the repayment of insurance policies during the review period increased by 4.53 percent.
