KATHMANDU: The United States has announced a $15 million reward for information on three commanders of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Forces.
According to BBC Persian, the announcement was made as part of the US State Department’s ‘Awards for Justice’ programme. The three commanders are Brigadier General Abdullah Mehrabi, Ahmad Jaffrabadi and Ali Asghar Nauruzi.
Brigadier General Abdullah Mehrabi is described as the head of the IRGC’s Aerospace Force’s “Jihad Research and Self-Reliance Organization”.
According to the US State Department, Ahmad Jafrabadi is a senior commander of the IRGC’s Aerospace Force and is responsible for the operational management of the force.
The US has identified Ali Asghar Nauruzi as its deputy director of preparedness and support for the Revolutionary Guards.
The US also imposed sanctions on 10 individuals and entities associated with Iran’s Ministry of Defense.
The US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has released a list of sanctions. It includes the names of citizens of Mexico, China and Pakistan, apart from Iran. – Agency
