NRA calls for complaints if there is any problem in payment of insurance claims, what details are required?

Kathmandu. The Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) has called for any complaints in case of any problem in the payment of insurance claims.

Issuing a notice today, the authority made this call. “The Authority has been receiving various complaints that some insurers, employees and surveyors have acted in violation of the existing laws, regulatory provisions and professional code of conduct in the course of determining the liability of the insurance and paying the claims,” the notice reads. The government has urged all stakeholders concerned to submit a complaint with evidence for action against the person involved in biased assessment, taking undue advantage or any other act against the person involved in such acts, as per the Insurance Act, 2079. ’

According to the NRA, necessary action will be taken after conducting investigation in accordance with the Insurance Act, 2079 and other prevailing laws by maintaining confidentiality of the complaints and evidences received.
