Kathmandu. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has issued a directive not to increase air fares after complaints of private airlines companies increasing the airfares at a time when major highways have been blocked due to floods in the Bhotekoshi river.
Issuing a directive letter to all airlines on Wednesday, CAAN has urged the airlines companies to pay attention to the convenience and welfare of passengers in the adverse situation of floods and natural disasters.
Directives have been issued to the government to provide air tickets below the upper ceiling of air fare approved by the government and not to increase the existing air fare in view of the existing situation and general fare.
Currently, Nepal Airlines Corporation, Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, Shree Airlines, Summit Air, Tara Air, and Sita Air are operating flights to domestic airports.
