KATHMANDU: Nepal Insurance Association, an umbrella organization of non-life insurance companies, has urged the government to facilitate the payment of insurance claims to the insured affected by the devastating floods in Rasuwa this morning.
The association made this request through a press release today. “In such a difficult situation, we would like to inform that the insurance sector is with the affected insured and the general public and is committed to bear the risk of damage to the property secured by the insurance,” the association said.
“The association has drawn serious attention to the damage caused to citizens, commercial houses, buildings, vehicles, industries and other property due to this disaster,” the statement reads. “The association requests all the insured who has suffered damages to their property, vehicle, business or other insured property insured by this natural disaster to contact the concerned insurance company at the earliest and facilitate the payment of the insurance claim,” the statement reads, “The association also requests the concerned insurance companies to facilitate and assist the affected insured in the claim process.” ’
In this difficult time, the association will make necessary coordination to evaluate the losses of the insured as soon as possible and to proceed effectively with the claim settlement process. “The association expresses its commitment to stand with the affected citizens and businessmen in this hour of grief,” the statement said.
The association has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and property caused by the massive floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwagadhi and Lower Tatiya areas of Rasuwa. “We pay heartfelt tribute to all the deceased who lost their lives due to this disaster and express deep condolences to the bereaved family members,” the association said, “We wish for the speedy recovery and safe rehabilitation of all the injured and affected citizens.” ’
