Kathmandu. The ratio of insurance sector to Nepal’s gross domestic product (prevailing price) has been increasing gradually. In the last three years, the ratio of insurance premium to GDP has increased from 3.41 percent to 3.72 percent.
According to the Nepal Insurance Authority, the fiscal year 2079. The ratio of total insurance premium to GDP of Rs 80 was 3.41 percent. This ratio was in the previous fiscal year 2080. It increased by 3.47 percent in the last fiscal year 2081. It was 3.72 percent in 1982.
In the last fiscal year, the ratio of life insurance to the GDP was 2.9 percent and that of non-life insurance was 0.74 percent.
