Kathmandu. Artificial intelligence (AI) is not just limited to chatting. TikTok’s parent company ByteDance has recently unveiled a prototype AI smartphone. This brings the smartphone closer to working like a human. This development has been described by many as dangerous.
In fact, ByteDance has developed its own Dubao AI agent. Which can see the user’s mobile screens. These agents can open apps and place orders for users. That too without the user touching it.
The AI phone will allow you to call, send messages, and book tickets. It looks like a science fiction movie.
A video of Shenzhen-based businessman Taylor Ogan demonstrating his AI phone has gone viral. He gives voice commands to the AI phone. The smartphone then completes the task automatically. The video has also raised concerns among many.
According to reports, ByteDance will soon reduce the features of its AI phones. This will prevent access to sensitive data. However, it has not been announced when it will start commercially.
The video shows ByteDance developing an AI system. which is founded on ZTE’s Nubia brand. It runs on an optimized Android version and includes ByteDance’s in-house large language model ecosystem.
AI phones are essentially different from voice assistants. They are different from Siri, Alexa or Google Assistant. Voice assistants activate apps based on voice commands. This allows them to access only selected features.
Voice commands on AI phones allow the mobile to perform tasks similar to that of a machine.
