Kathmandu. The Ministry of Finance has summoned the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) for discussion today.
The employees of the Securities Board of Nepal have been agitating for the past one and a half months. They have demanded the resignation of party chairman Santosh Narayan Shrestha and barred him from entering the office.
Chairman Shrestha has been absent from the office due to the employees’ agitation. “The chairman and directors of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) have been summoned for a meeting this evening,” a source said, “The discussion will focus on finding a solution to the problem.” ’
The employees have been protesting since the Ministry of Finance wrote a letter to the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) on September 2. The employees of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) have demanded that the revenue secretary-level decision to scrap the working procedure issued by the Board of Directors of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) should be revoked immediately. All work has come to a standstill due to the employees’ strike.
According to a source at the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), Shrestha has summoned Executive Director Binay Dev Acharya to attend the meeting. “The employees are hopeful that their demands will be addressed after today’s discussion,” the source said.
