Kathmandu. Young people under the age of 34 are found to be the most active in insurance fraud in the world.

A new study from the University of Georgia shows this. “The younger they are, the more likely they are to defraud a company or employer in order to get the money they are looking for or the results they want,” the report said. ’

Young people, in particular, have a hostile relationship with insurance companies, according to the report. “If young people are tied up in situations where they think they should be competing,” said lead author and professor emerita Brenda Kude of the UGA College of Family and Consumer Sciences. This can lead young people to unimaginable things. In particular, they are not aware that it is technically illegal or that it can have negative consequences. ’

The researchers understood the views of the younger generation on insurance claims. About 1,500 youths were included in the survey. Out of 5 young people surveyed, 2 were not worried about insurance fraud.

Participants in the survey were also asked if they knew anyone who had committed a crime. Two out of five respondents between the ages of 25 and 34 said they think it is natural to commit fraud or act unlawfully under circumstances. ’

Participants described insurance fraud as a way to save money or help a friend through a difficult situation. “Age is very important. Part of it may be how young people perceive insurance companies,” Kude said. ’

According to the report, the more irresponsible attitudes of the younger generation may affect their willingness to engage in insurance fraud.

Millennials and Genzi only changed their minds about insurance fraud after seeing serious consequences, the report said.

“Even if their actions cause rapid and widespread damage or make them feel bad, there is no way to back down,” Kude said. Even if they know they are doing wrong, they have no problem acting. Because they think they’ve been duped and they’re right. ’
