Kathmandu. Nepal Layers Poultry Farmers’ Association has hiked the price of eggs with effect from Monday.
The wholesale price of egg has increased by Rs 50 per kg. With this, the wholesale price of big egg has reached Rs 500 per crate and that of medium egg has reached Rs 450 per crate. According to the association, this increase has been determined on the basis of Chitwan.
According to the association, the price of eggs has increased due to the decrease in egg production and increase in consumption. Now, the retail price of eggs has reached around Rs 22 per egg.
