Kathmandu. Lumbini Lions have signed a long-term partnership with Bhairahawa-based Extratech Oval Cricket Ground. The agreement was signed by Binod Kunwar of Extratech Oval and Ishwor GC of Lumbini Lions.
As per the agreement, Extratech Oval will now be the official home ground and preparation centre of Lumbini Lions. This partnership is based on a shared vision to develop world-class cricket infrastructure in western Nepal. As part of this, Lumbini Lions will conduct training, practice matches, coaching camps and strategic meetings at the Extratech Oval. In addition, preparations will also be made for LEE in the coming years and other national and international level cricket matches will also be held at this ground.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ishwor GC, president of Lumbini Lions, said, “Extratech Oval is not just a ground for us, it is the home of Lumbini Lions and it will become our identity and this place will be the foundation of our preparation and journey.” Special thanks to the Extra Over team, they are doing such a great job with private investment and we are excited to encourage them and be partners in this. We believe that this will contribute a lot to the development of not only Lumbini but also to the overall development of Nepali cricket and accordingly we are making joint efforts to take Nepali cricket to a new height.
Binod Kunwar, representative of Extratech Oval, said, “This partnership will strengthen us towards developing world-class cricket facilities in Nepal and we believe that this agreement will send a long-term positive message for the development of cricket in Nepal and Lumbini as a whole.”
As per the agreement, the Extratech Oval will have access to the main ove, practice net, pitch, floodlights, ground maintenance equipment and clubhouse. We firmly believe that this will provide Lumbini Lions with a professional level training and preparation environment throughout the year.
