Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Rameshwor Prasad Khanal and Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Arno Cosby paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister at the latter’s office today. During the meeting, COSO discussed with the Finance Minister the possible impact of the political developments in Nepal on the economy and the continuity of the programmes being run with the assistance of ADB.
On the occasion, Minister Khanal said the main responsibility of the incumbent government was to hold the House of Representatives election on the slated date and the government was committed to good governance and create employment opportunities in the country as per the aspirations of youths in the changed times. The ADB has played an important role in the areas of energy, physical infrastructure, drinking water and various development projects, he pledged to give continuity to ongoing projects.
ADB Country Director for Nepal Koswa said the government was ready to collaborate with the government in the areas of economic development in Nepal.
Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyaya and Chief of the Foreign Cooperation Coordination Division Dhaniram Sharma were also present in the meeting.
