Millennial (GenY)

Blood boils even when I remember the way innocent youths were killed by the state on Monday, September 23, 2082. What was the fault of these young men? What did they do to kill them? Didn’t they have the right to live freely and do whatever they wanted? These rights are clearly written in the constitution made by the so-called people. But why was their voice suppressed? Before shooting in the school uniform, the person carrying that gun did not have the slightest bit of love, pity, or compassion. What could the young man have done if he hadn’t been shot? What was there to do to them and do great damage to them?

All these questions are troubling every Nepali and the memory of those deceased children is shaking. We survivors are also being mocked by the blood of the dead and are questioning, what is the dignity of my blood?

The generation that is now agitating is the generation that has grown up absorbing the technology that has been developed with them. It was natural for them to be angry when they left their friends on social media, YouTube, and other friends who had been friends since they regained consciousness. Shouldn’t politics be for the people? There was nothing to be angry about not being registered on social media.

A globally recognized organization with more income than our country’s GDP can say that it will not come to register in your country on the basis of a low guideline. On the contrary, if the state had regulated it by enacting a law through the parliament, it would not have been able to say that it would not come. The main problem in Nepal is policy instability.

Large global companies do not want to be registered for fear that the provisions of the directive can be changed at any time. The Minister of Communications, who promotes this issue, says that even after we say that it will not be registered, Oli will support such cynics. Don’t be too cynical. There was no need to play with the sentiments of the youth who are called the future of Nepal to satisfy the whims and egos of one person. Thousands of people of this generation were doing business on the basis of social media. The frivolous words spoken by a person like the Communications Minister, the irresponsible statements spoken by the Home Minister, and the third-class farce spoken by the parents of the country like the Prime Minister, there was no responsibility, love for the country and concern for the future of their children.

The current outrage is not a one-day outrage. They are the same people who have been living in the same face, this deceit and this deception for many years in the past, now the pot of sin is broken.

Naturally, many elements in the crowd of millions try to fulfill their selfish interests. But shouldn’t the Prime Minister, who is a parent, call the coordinators of Jenji the day before and discuss what to do and what not to do? Is it the responsibility of the parents to sit in the chair? Don’t you care about your children’s happiness? What is the point of opening a social media after killing so many children? Couldn’t this have been done in the face of yesterday’s movement?

What would have happened if the guardians of the nation had called and discussed how to take the hot country forward by streamlining the social media? Those innocent children would not have died. But who would have been in the face of madness? Today’s planners are the leaders who think that the people are more deprived than sheep and goats. The thinking of the society is on one side and the thinking of the leader is on the other side. The people have seen the world. We want our country to be like this, the society should be like this, but no matter how much the world has seen the leaders, they are happy to indulge in corruption in the last few years and accumulate wealth that will last seven generations.

What to do now?

Looking at the current developments, the current parties have lost the legitimacy given to the people. The old political parties including the Nepali Congress, UML, Maoist Center have proved that they can no longer carry the aspirations and ideas of the society. This government has also exhausted its legitimacy by massacring unarmed children yesterday. At the same time, the second or third generation leaders of the current major parties are also indulging in power and corruption, so there is no room for new hope from them, and the current agitating generation of Jenji will not accept the leadership of such people. Therefore, in this critical situation, a new kind of equation needs to be formed. This is the freedom and transparency that the current generation needs. He had to work in his own country.

The Genji generation also wants to be run by honest and true patriotic people, not to run the state themselves. The destination of this movement should indeed be the starting point of New Nepal. The main objective should be to abolish the current structure, the federal parliament, the provincial parliament and bring the current situation under the control of the Nepal Army until another elected system is introduced. For this, the Nepal Army should come forward in an impartial manner. At present, the only acceptable institution in Nepal is the Nepal Army. Therefore, the current movement of Genji must be descended by the following measures.

1. The incumbent President should be sacked and a Chief of Army Staff should be appointed as the acting President.

2. The existing federal council of ministers and provincial councils of ministers should be dissolved and a seven-member interim government should be formed to run the government in a centralized manner.

  • Balendra Sah
  • Ark Ruit
  • Sushila Karki
  • Gopi Hamal
  • Anil Sah
  • Kulman Ghising
  • Genji

3. The Nepal Army should arrest all the members of the cabinet, including the prime minister.

4. The Nepal Army should arrest all those who are in the current major political parties and who have become prime ministers and ministers after 1990.

5. The incumbent Chief Secretary, Secretary and Joint Secretary should be dismissed. After 2047 B.S., the Nepal Army should arrest all the Chief Secretary, Secretary and Joint Secretary who are at the upper level of the bureaucracy.

6. All the IGPs, AIGs and DIGs of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National Investigation Department should be sacked. All the commissioners of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), all the judges of the Supreme Court, including the Chief Justice, and the office-bearers of other constitutional commissions including the Election Commission should be dismissed.

7. The passports of all those arrested or dismissed should be confiscated, a high-level commission of investigation should be formed to investigate their properties and an impartial investigation should be conducted within six months and the guilty should be punished.

8. The date for the general election should be fixed on 15th Poush 2082 for the new mandate. There should be a directly elected executive president and a small and efficient cabinet should be formed with a maximum of 10 members.

There should be only 77 directly elected parliamentarians in all 77 districts of the country. The proportional representation (PR) system should be completely abolished. Lawmakers should not be allowed to become ministers. The existing provincial structure should be completely scrapped and there should be a provision of the federal government at the center and the local government at the local level.

All these points should be written in the agreement as the achievements of the movement.
