Kathmandu. Brokers have appealed to suspend Tuesday’s trading in the wake of the Genji protests.
Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts have imposed curfew in Kathmandu Valley since early this morning. Brokers have requested to suspend share trading in this difficult situation.
Priya Raj Regmi, chairman of Crystal Kanchenjunga Securities (Broker No. 50), wrote, “Broker friends and investors trading in the secondary market, youths are sacrificing their lives in protest against corruption and misgovernance, the government is imposing curfew, the curfew has disrupted the movement.” ’
“All the countrymen, parents, brothers and sisters are disturbed by this incident,” Regmi said. “The business world is disappointed,” he wrote, adding, “We pay tribute to the brave young martyrs and extend condolences to the bereaved families in this difficult situation. ’
Regmi has urged the Stock Bowkers Association of Nepal to coordinate this work.
