Kathmandu. National level development banks have earned a profit of Rs 4.38 billion till April of the current fiscal year.
According to the data released by the Rastra Bank, eight national level development banks have earned a total profit of Rs 4.38 billion till April 2018. In the same period last year, the total profit of these development banks was Rs 4.05 billion. Compared to the previous year, the profit of the banks has increased by 8.08 percent.
Muktinath bank has the highest profit till the review period. The bank has earned a profit of Rs 876.8 million till April 2019. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 994.8 million in the year-ago period. The bank’s profit declined by 11.87 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.
Garima has earned a profit of Rs 869.3 million till April of the current fiscal year. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 757.4 million in the same period last year. The bank’s profit has decreased by 14.78 percent compared to the previous year.
Shine Resunga is at the third position in terms of profit. The bank had posted a profit of Rs 615.4 million in the review period as compared to Rs 583.7 million in the previous fiscal year. The bank’s profit has increased by 5.42 percent compared to the previous year.
Similarly, Kamana Sewa has earned a profit of Rs 577.5 million, Shangri-La Rs 498.7 million, Mahalaxmi Rs 463.2 million, Jyoti Rs 361.4 million and Lumbini Rs 119.2 million. Compared to the previous year, the profit of Kamana Service increased by 42.86 percent, Shangri-La by 78.73 percent, Mahalaxmi by 0.32 percent and Jyoti by 56.56 percent and Lumbini by 65.15 percent.
