Budget has come to boost the morale of private sector: Former Chairman Agrawal

Kathmandu. Former President of Confederation of Nepalese Industries Bishnu Agrawal has said that the new budget is welcome.

Speaking at a post-budget discussion programme organised by the Association of Economic Journalists of Nepal (NAFIJ) here today, former chairman Agrawal said the budget was self-sufficient as it was aimed at boosting the morale of the private sector. He said that this budget is very welcome to attract investment.

Agarwal said that production growth is also necessary to achieve the revenue target. “Investment and production are necessary to increase revenue,” he said.

He said that the enthusiasm in the private sector has increased at a time when things are also being done to invest abroad.

He said the budget was positive for the development of the industrial sector. There is also a need to pay attention to the issue of customs, he said.

Agrawal said that the government needs to think as the energy sector is a very important sector for Nepal and there is an oversight in it. According to him, a well-planned policy is needed to take this sector forward.
