Budget implementation a priority of the government, finance minister shows policy reforms

At a press conference organized at the Ministry of Finance today, Finance Minister Poudel highlighted the major achievements of the budget and said that implementation is the priority of the government. Finance Minister Poudel presented the budget for the fiscal year 2020/21 in the joint house of the federal parliament on Thursday.

Finance Minister Poudel said that 6 percent economic growth is expected to be achieved after the implementation of the budget.

Finance Minister Poudel said that policy reforms have been proposed to promote foreign investment in the budget.

Similarly, Minister Poudel has also presented budget implementation plans. “The implementation of the budget will increase the capacity of the project management,” he said, adding, “There is a provision to fill up the posts on time (arrangements have been made to complete it by mid-July).” ’

Poudel also said that the thematic ministry would take initiative in policy reforms and budget implementation and decisions and inter-agency coordination would be made at the earliest.

At a press conference, Finance Minister Poudel claimed that the budget was encouraging the private sector from the general public. “A number of policy reforms have been made in the budget,” he said, adding, “A policy has been taken to use alternative development finance.”

According to Finance Minister Poudel, the improvement in the project management and procurement process will increase the capital expenditure. “For the federal project, Rs. The rs 30 million standard has been implemented,” he said, adding that the policy of austerity and expenditure reduction would balance the current expenditure. ’

Poudel said that arrangements have been made to make the procurement process after May 15. ‘Rs. Projects worth more than Rs 250 million will be monitored by the National Dashboard,” he said, adding that the grant has been limited to a maximum of 50 per cent of the cost. ’

Poudel said that the provincial and local levels have been provided a balanced budget through the budget and the use of forest land has been simplified. “Social security expenditure and health insurance have been made more systematic,” he said, adding, “Social security and service delivery have been streamlined considering national identity card as the main basis.” ’
