Kathmandu. Chairman of the Electricity Regulatory Commission, Dr. Ram Prasad Dhital took oath of office and secrecy on Thursday along with three other members.
Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha administered the oath of office and secrecy to Dhital at his office office. Dhital has been appointed as the chairman of the company for the second time for a 4-year term. Dhital administered the oath of office and secrecy to Jayaraj Bhandari, Balaram Silwal and Lokraj Pathak as members of the commission.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday had decided to appoint them to the commission’s directors. However, one post of woman member is still vacant in the commission.
Among them, Bhandari and Silwal are retired directors of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). Likewise, another newly appointed member Pathak has experience related to energy, water resources and regulatory sector.
