Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump posted a map of the Strait of Hormuz on Truth social media with the caption “New American territory”.
Trump’s photo shows the Strait of Hormuz in a circle. This post follows his recent statements.
“I will now declare Hormuz as American territory,” Trump told a rally earlier Friday. Trump’s statement and his new post come amid heightened tensions between the US and Iran on Hormuz.
The movement of oil tankers and other commercial vessels passing through the waterway has also significantly reduced. –Agency
