Kathmandu. Lumbini Palace Resort established in Rupandehi since 2075 BS has been upgraded. The resort located in Siyari Ward No. 5 will now operate under the Lumbini Marriott Resort & Spa brand. Lumbini Marriott Resort & Spa is a five-star hotel.
This is Marriott International’s first hotel outside the Kathmandu Valley. The agreement was signed with Marriott International in the presence of its Chairman Deepak Pandey, Managing Director Roshan Kumar Neupane, Resort Owners, Niraj Govil, Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific on behalf of Marriott International, Kiran Undicott, Senior Vice President of Development South Asia, Juhi Roy and others.
Lumbini Palace Resort Limited has set a target to acquire permission to operate a five-star resort by the end of this fiscal year. Nepal’s first and only water resort, water fountain, water shows, musical fountain, 3D water screen, motor boating, mini cruise, water restaurant, water spa and dozens of other activities will be offered at the hotel.
Also, addressing climate change, global warming, ecological imbalances, the resort will be developed as Nepal’s first and only wellness resort with Green Certification (GOLD) as wellness retreat and eco-resort.
The hotel aims to fully comply with the requirements for the Green Certification (Gold) such as environmental protection, energy conservation, sustainable development and low pollution.
It will be developed as Nepal’s first and only organic five-star wellness luxury resort with organic certification, promoting natural and sustainable human health and naturopathy.
Similarly, to promote sports tourism, the resort aims to be developed as Nepal’s first and only multi-speciality resort with all infrastructure of international standards required for all major sports played in Nepal under one umbrella.
The resort will also feature Buddha theme park, mini stupas, mini Buddha museum, meditation zones, cultural centers, among others. With the full operation, the resort will be the first and only destination of Nepal for all the participants who want to experience different genres of world tourism including water, eco, wellness, sports, cultural and want to hold international level conferences and personal events including weddings.
According to the hotel, the hotel plans to establish it as a model destination of the country by directly and indirectly contributing to the country’s economy by promoting local employment, local production, and tourism.
