Kathmandu. The price of bottled and jar of water has been fixed for the Kathmandu Valley and outside.
The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has determined the maximum retail price of 1 liter bottled water and 20 liters jar water. Accordingly, the maximum retail price of one liter of water in Kathmandu Valley has been fixed at Rs 16 and for jar water at Rs 47.
Similarly, the maximum retail price of one liter bottled water outside the Kathmandu Valley has been determined at Rs 20 and jar of water at Rs 60.
The Department has warned of action as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 if the amount is taken more than the specified price.
