Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has advised the general public not to become a ‘money mule’.
The central bank has issued a notice for financial awareness today. A ‘money mule’ is a person who transfers money through his or her account that other people have received illegally.
Nepal Rastra Bank has also advised to take precautions to avoid ‘money mule’. According to the central bank, there is a huge risk in keeping someone else’s money in your bank account or allowing someone to use your account.
Similarly, the NRB has also advised people not to accept proposals such as ‘long time easy money!’. “This act can land you in jail,” the central bank warned.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has urged people not to give their account numbers, passwords and personal details to anyone who does not know them. “Your rights and security in the account are also your responsibility,” the NRB has said, “Always be vigilant and have full control of your money.” ’
