Kathmandu. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has urged the vulnerable settlements to adopt precaution due to incessant rainfall.
Issuing a notice today, the KMC urged the people living in vulnerable settlements to take precautions. “It has been raining continuously since last night”, the notice reads, adding that representatives of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) are on duty to inspect the potentially vulnerable areas. ’
According to KMC, the road has been submerged by the Hanumante River towards the west of Solti Mod. “The rivulet has left a distance of about 5 feet near the house”, the notice said, adding that efforts are underway to prevent the river erosion by using sacks and gravel in coordination with the Metropolitan Police Force and the Department of Disaster Management. ’
The metropolis has said that if there is a problem due to inundation in any settlement, it will be shifted to a nearby safe school.
