Kathmandu. A delegation led by NADA President Karan Chaudhary met with Prime Minister Sushila Karki and discussed the current complex situation of the country and its impact on the automobile business. Honorable Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal, Honorable Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Kul Man Ghising, Honorable Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal were also present in the discussion.
On the occasion, Chairman Chaudhary said that if the government addresses only two or three suggestions given by NADA, the automobile business will be dynamic. President Chaudhary said that the security of the general business community and the peace and peace of the country were the most important issues and the government should also prepare a road map for the upliftment of the entrepreneurs. During the discussion, Chairman Chaudhary said that NADA wants to move ahead in collaboration with the government.
During the meeting, Chairman Chaudhary also presented a 22-point suggestion on behalf of NADA, urging the government to improve the policies needed to make Nepal’s automobile business dynamic. During the discussion, NADA also requested for the implementation of the suggestions submitted by NADA to the Ministry of Forest and Environment regarding the effects of the implementation of Nepal Vehicle Pollution Standard 2082, saying that the limit of Hire Purchase should be increased from 60 percent to 805 percent in the process of issuing electricity from the banks, especially for the vehicles running on petrol and diesel. On the occasion, Chairman Chaudhary also urged the government to have representation of NADA in the Industry Promotion Council.
At the end of the discussion, Prime Minister Karki said that the government was serious about the loss caused to the business by the agitation by considering the suggestions put forth by the entrepreneurs. In this context, she said that being a legal practitioner, she was less aware about the problems of Nepal’s industry and business, adding that the entrepreneurs themselves have been harassed by every movement in Nepal and doing business in Nepal is akin to gambling.
During the discussion, she assured that no matter what kind of disaster comes, we should move ahead with determination and all should follow the rule of law and the government would always stand with the entrepreneurs. She said that she was proud to hear that the entrepreneurs were also ready to support the government and assured that Nepal’s banking system would be made business-friendly.
Stating that the entrepreneurs have a lot of experience, she assured that only the government would not be able to provide employment, the government would give high priority to private production, concession in interest rates, high priority would be given to the industries of the country to make the country self-reliant and customs duty would be reduced. During the same discussion, she said that the current government has given first priority to the election and Susan.
NADA Secretary Bikram Singhaniya and central working committee members Kapil Shiwakoti, Meghraj Poudel and Nishan Dhakal were also present in the discussion.
