Kathmandu. The government has decided to give a public holiday throughout the country today. The interim government led by former justice Sushila Karki has decided to observe a day of mourning on Wednesday, September 1. Government offices, schools, banks, insurance companies and share market will remain closed today.
Today it has been decided to observe a day of mourning in memory of those who died in the Jenji movement. According to Minister for Home Affairs and Law Om Prakash Aryal, the government has decided to observe Sept 1 as a mourning day and also give a public holiday on the same day.
It has also decided to drape the national flag over those who lost their lives in the protests. As many as 73 people have been killed in the ongoing Zenji protests.
