Kathmandu. The interim government led by former justice Sushila Karki has decided to observe a day of mourning on September 17 (Wednesday).
A meeting of the Council of Ministers today decided to observe a day of condolence in memory of those killed in the Genji movement. According to Minister for Home Affairs and Law Om Prakash Aryal, the government has decided to observe a day of mourning on September 17 and also give a public holiday on the same day.
The meeting also decided to cover those who lost their lives in the agitation with the national flag. As many as 72 people were killed in the Genji agitation on September 24 and 25.
