Kathmandu. After two days of agitation, the Jenji generation, which has been successful in ousting traditional parties from power, has left confusion over who will lead the interim government.
At a meeting held at the Army Headquarters this evening, a group of people are proposing to give the responsibility of the leadership of the civilian government to former justice Sushila Karki, while the youths who were outside are insisting that Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balen Shah or Mayor of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City Harka Sampang should be given the responsibility of leadership. Meanwhile, a group of youths outside the army headquarters are chanting slogans demanding that one of the two mayors should be given the responsibility of civilian government.
During a meeting held at the Nepal Army Headquarters today, Genji’s representatives proposed the formation of an interim civilian government under the leadership of former justice Karki. According to sources, the proposal is being considered by Nepal Army Chief Ashok Raj Sigdel. Because the other group of Genji is sticking to the name of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Shah.
According to sources, Chief of Army Staff Sigla will now hold talks with former Chief Justice Karki about Genji’s proposal. “Today, Janeji youths had discussed on social media about who should be brought to the leadership,” said a source, “Two names came up in the discussion, one Sushila Karki and the other Balen Sah. However, there is a strong opinion in Karki’s favor. ’
According to sources, many youths had also proposed the name of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Shah in the meeting. However, Sah did not get in touch despite repeated phone calls.
This morning, the delegation had reached the Chief of Army Staff Sigdel for talks. But they returned after Sigdel first asked them to come to an agreement.
