Kathmandu. The government and the agitating consumers have reached a nine-point agreement demanding action against those involved in the illegal business of meter interest in Madhes Province and relief to the victims.
Prime Minister’s advisor Deepa Dahal said that the protest has been called off after the government and the representatives of the victims who have been protesting for the past nine days reached a nine-point agreement on Friday.
Home Minister Sudan Gurung and the victims’ representatives had agreed to form a talks team in Kathmandu on July 13 after the ‘Foot Justice March’ that started from Tritiyagachhi of Janakpur on July 9 reached Nijgadh of Bara.TAG_OPEN_div_7 Following the talks with the Home Minister, the representatives of the talks team formed by the victims’ side and the government team led by Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Pushkar Sapkota, have reached a conclusion on their demands.
